For Peerless Trout First Nation, a fire hall was an urgent priority. Located approximately 500km north of Edmonton with a population of 900, the community has relied on their neighbours in Red Earth Creek for fire rescue services.
ATCO designed the 2,300 sq. ft. fire hall utilizing a combination of modular units and a pre-engineered steel building. The modular units house the administrative section of the fire hall and include an office, exercise room, kitchen and change rooms, and connects directly to the pre-engineered steel building containing two large vehicle bays.
A goal for this Nation was to keep jobs within the community and hire locally wherever possible. ATCO helped to support this desire by utilizing a local construction company and local labourers to complete the project.
With their new fire hall and seven dedicated volunteer firefighters, Peerless Trout First Nation is now in a position to provide essential emergency services needed in their community.
